Chile Challenge Introduction
Project to rebuild the mission church at Glorias Navales, Vina Del Mar, Chile
The project is to rebuild the mission church at Glorias Navales and is part of a whole project to rebuild the chapel, vicarage and Sunday school rooms.
Glorias Navales was a total shantytown that is gradually 'developing'. Half the inhabitants are un-employed or semi-employed.
Curches involved are:
- San Pedro, Vina Del Mar
- St John the Baptist, Burscough
- The mission in Glorias Navales
Inspiration For The Project
- Neil' sabbatical in 2000 and vision for how we could be involved
- Terry and Pancha's visit to St John's
- S.A.M.S. conference
- Rob Powell coming to Burscough for the SAMS evening
- St John's, Widnes trip and visit to Burscough
- St John's growing heart for mission

Resourcing the rebuild
San Pedro and St John's have provided the materials and the local people at Glorias Navales are building the church.
Work has progressed well and Terry is providing us regular updates of the progress which we communicate in church and display on our mission board.
